Last Day in Guangzhou

Hello my dear friends - thank you for all your comments on the last posts, your messages, your facebook posts...   Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I was sick the last few days.  Like felt like I could die last night sick...  Feeling much better today though. :)  Feels like the flu, hoping not, but was pretty miserable for a while.

I will try to update all our happenings! And there have been a lot!! No idea how we do so much each day! Meisi will be bored once we get home - lol!

First thing in the morning on the 27th we went to the Consulate.  Here we took an oath with the US Consulate and all other families.  We had been told to dress nicer here but they really could've cared less.  We were sitting in a waiting room and a lady behind a glass window said the oath with all the families there with a microphone, we repeated, handed paperwork and that was it.  Very important part of adoption, but very short and uneventful!
Next we went to the playground at our hotel and said goodbye to our new friends the Miller's.  We then went back to Shaiman (sp?) island where we did some more shopping.  Sorry Melissa- we never found the little umbrella :(  They said they only had those a short time. We took the picture with the little statues and Ian finally got some love from Meisi (well, she held his hand...baby steps). :)

Our guide took us to the Banana leaf for dinner.  Thai food not so great (of course, that is coming from us who have had REAL Thai food - this was Chinese Thai food which oddly enough tasted like American Thai food) but neat restaurant.   They sang songs in English and had people dancing... pretty funny...this one guy was really funny to me. :)  Sorry, not trying to make fun...just funny what they think is cool Western culture..  Oh- and Meisi loves trying to use chopsticks!  This little sweetie has some skills :)

Thanks again for all your prayers throughout our trip.  We can definitely feel the coverage. :)  God is so good.  We know we have been incredibly blessed with our little sweetie. :)  She has been such an angel. She fits into our family perfectly.  LOVE how God creates families through more than one way!
Now I totally understand and completely agree with the t-shirts I've seen....

Got Love??

ADOPT!!!

  1. I *love* those shirts too! I just recently saw "I would rather be adopting" shirts. I am thinking of buying one :)
